Understanding the dangers of Global Warming, the oilheat industry has, for the last two decades, been researching ways to make its fuel renewable and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
To accomplish this the industry has increasingly reduced the sulfur content of its fuel and blended it with renewable, clean burning biodiesel to create ultra-low sulfur Bioheat Fuel. Biodiesel blends seamlessly in heating oil and this new fuel requires no adjustment to your heating equipment.
These efforts have paid off as Bioheat has been field tested and proven to be clean, efficient and safe for the equipment and tanks in people’s homes. An additional benefit for you is that there is no increased cost for this new Bioheat Fuel.
On September 16, 2019 at the New England Fuel Institute (NEFI) HEAT Show, 300 dealers met and adopted a resolution to make a voluntary commitment to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the fuel they sell. The resolution that was adopted laid out an aggressive plan to reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions to net-zero by 2050.
The schedule to attain this goal is as follows:
15% by 2023
40% by 2030
Net-Zero by 2050
We at Scott Energy have embraced the industry’s commitment to a greener future and have begun distributing Bioheat Fuel starting March 2020. All our heating fuel customers will be receiving this new, greener fuel as we join in the oilheat industry’s movement to a brighter future.
The widespread introduction of Bioheat Fuel will enable the oilheat industry to be part of the environmental solution and not part of the problem going forward.
