Scott Energy Tank Protection Plan - Terms and Conditions
Qualifications for Tank Protection Plan Participation:
- Customer’s account is on automatic delivery for heating oil
- Customer’s tank has been visually inspected and approved for coverage by Scott Energy or a third-party approved by Scott Energy
- Each covered Tank is 275 or 330 gallon capacity
- The tank is in a basement, garage, or outside, and is accessible, without obstruction
- If the tank is inside an enclosure or otherwise inaccessible for any reason, the customer is responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the tank (without obstruction) for inspection and servicing
- Underground tanks are not covered
- This Tank Protection Plan is terminated if and when the customer purchases heating oil from another oil company (other than Scott Energy) or Scott Energy or customer terminates that customer’s account for any reason
New Tank Installation Procedure & Exclusions:
- Scott Energy will
- Obtain all permitting, including removal and installation permits
- Disconnect piping and remove old tank
- Properly dispose of tank according to Massachusetts State Fire Marshall regulations
- Install new 275 or 330 gallon tank including legs, fill & vent pipes, vent alarm, gauge and labor
- Guarantee all work and materials for one from the installation date
- Oil line upgrades or other code compliance requirements are not covered and will be billed separately
- Environmental damage caused by leakage from the tank or oil line running to the burner is not covered
- Homeowner agrees to remove any obstructions and provide clear access for removal and installation
Tank Protection Plan is automatically renewed annually in June.
